So in an attempt to lower some of our expenses we had a little fun. We decided to sell Trevor's truck and buy him a motorcycle. We bought a 2007 Honda VTX. With a lower payment, a lot less gas ( 40-50 miles per gallon) and cheaper insurance it fufills one of those dreams that guys have. We decided to go with the very non traditional green. I think it is awesome but I am sure some people aren't to fond of it. My other pictures of it have a bit of a glare on them so I will switch them out later. Trevor offered to go get his hair cut just so that he could go ride some more
. I am afraid of it, but I think that I will go for a ride with him later on, but we will have to see if I ever want to ride it alone (and if he will trust me enough to let me??)
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

CRAWLING
So Elizabeth has finally learned how to crawl. She is nine months this week so I think it is about time. The only problem is that when she wants picked up she still won't crawl to me. She still just lies there and cries at me. It is so cute though. She has to think so hard about it. Her one leg will go backwards and she stops and thinks then m
oves it forward again. Call me a bad Mom but i think that the cutest part is when she gets off balance and topples over. Her favorite things to crawl for are remotes, phones and the dvd player. Anything else just isn't worth her time yet.

Daddy's Girl
Elizabeth loves her Papa. He always tosses her around, swings her by her arms and legs, twirls her, balances her and plays with her. All the time that he is doing this she laughs and giggles, having the time of her life. One time Trevor would pretend he was crying while he was holding her. In an attempt to comfort him Elizabeth would put her thumb in his mouth. The thing that melts his heart the most however is when he is holding her during one of those rare moments when she wants to cuddle.

ANGER
So Carma has been a pain lately. She has dug up the garden twice, dug up the brand new lawn twice, relieved herself in my house twice, ripped to shreds the brand new bag of dog food, ripped to shreds the bags of planting soil. So after all of this I tied her up outside in our front yard. Guess What!?!?! I got to find out that it is illegal in Arizona to have your pet on a tie up, and add on top of that she did not have "adequate shelter and shade". Yes Animal Care came to take her away because I neglect her. (side note: it is 9 am , I don't think shade is an issue at this time of day, it is still cool). I managed to talk them out of it because I had no idea it was illegal and I told them how we had just moved here. I guess I forgot to mention that that was the only thing I could think of to do to get her out of my hair so I didn't kill her dead. So now she is in her kennel in the laundry room where no one can call the animal cops on me. Man Alive.

Best of Friends
So I decided that with all of this beautiful weather we should go out side and enjoy the new lawn. So Elizabeth, Carma and I went outside to lay on the grass. The exciting part is that ELIZABETH WILL TOUCH IT!!! Hooray! So we laid outside and soaked up some sun. We ran around a little and called Grandma Craig to say hello. It was so much fun to watch Carma and Elizabeth play. They would lay next to eachother, and Carma lets Elizabeth play with her feet. In return however Elizabeth giggles while Carma sneeks "puppy kisses" on her cheek EWWWWWW. Despite that it is fun to see how those two have become
such good friends.

St. Patty's
What could be more appropriate for the "Green Holiday" than to turn the dust pit into "the emerald isle". I think that all of this hard work has finally paid off. Afterwards we decided to break it all in just a little. It was so funny to watch Elizabeth experience the grass. She did not like to touch it at first but eventually she would pat it with her hands. What wonderful memories we hope to build here.
The Great Escape
So up until today our backyard has been very similar in looks to a prison compound. It was dust and rocky and just not very good. Trevor and I decided that we wanted to lay sod out there to improve the house. In our preperations we started to rake the dust and rock, trying to level and smooth it out. In the end I think it ended up dustier and rockier. We planted a garden and some other plants for our own enjoyment along the way. Well Carma (our dog) left everything alone for a couple of days, but that was to good to last, sge dug it all up. While cursing her name we replanted, and to prvent this we put up chickenwire fences around everything. Well the dog was not going to be beaten, she managed to sneak through the fence and dig it all up again. Well we replanted
promising that we would kill her if it happened again. We put a stake in the dirt and tied a rope to it and she lived on that rope for a number of days. Everyday however there would be another hole dug in the dirt where she was trying to "escape" her bonds. Well a couple of days before we got the sod I went out there and raked out the dirt and filled in the holes, the dog was not allowed in the backyard at all at this point. However Elizabeth was outside with me. Well she must have taken a page out of the dogs
book, or maybe they were in cahoots together, but she decided that she was going to escape as well. I turned around however to catch her in the act. What am I going to do with these two?

NO NAP!!
Baby Proofing
So I thought I was safe so far in baby proofing the house. I mean she can't crawl and can only scoot backwards. So when she is trying to get something she just ends up farther away (this makes her angry at times). However she has
discovered that if she points herself in the right direction she can sometimes roll to whatever she wants. She has crossed entire rooms in this fashion. Luckily she only got into the bag of diapers, I guess this was the little sign to me that I needed to start Elizabeth proofing my house.
Favorite Foods
Elizabeth has some funny food favorites due largly to her father. She LOVES fresh mango and kiwi. He will give her a mango pit to suck on or he will just peel the kiwi and give her the whole thing. She devours them. I guess mushed baby food just isn't any competition, but I think we have a tropics baby on our hands.

The COOLEST Toys
You know it is always funny how the coolest toys are the ones you find and not the ones you buy. Elizabeth LOVES to play with wooden spoons, buckets, measuring cups, clothes, pens and anything else that mom or dad just pass her. When given the choice she always chooses the object that isn't an actual toy. I remember playing in the basement in one of those huge fridge boxes. It was so much fun. Why does that seem so different now, that we look for "toys" to entertain us. I guess that found objects just loose their mystery and charm.
