Tucking Elizabeth into bed last night
"Mom" saddest voice and a very upset face.
"oh no here we go" I think mentally preparing myself to rebuff the onslaught of stay up tactics. "will she start with the drink or the story"
"Yes Sweetheart?" I say
"Mom ... my NOSE pokes OUT"
Stifle a laugh
"That's okay, mine does too." I respond
She rolls over content with this answer and goes to sleep.
Man, just when you think you are ready for anything... where did that come from
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

Tada
As promised here are more pictures of Sam's buzz

He is such a funny little man. Always a character. He will grab your face between his hands and give you the biggest wettest sloppiest kisses, then he laughs and runs away. He gives big hugs to Lizzy and they both end up on the floor laughing. When you call him over he runs to you, well almost to you. He stays just outside of your arm reach and then takes off the other way. Gotta love this little man. He is SUCH a BOY.
Lizzy got to go on a date with Mumma, Papa and Gram on Saturday. We headed up to the Calgary Farmers Market. It was so much fun. I LOVE farmers markets. I bought big crates of blueberries and froze them so that we will have them for the next few months. Lizzy had a great time though, She got a pink cuppy cake

And a baloon Lady bug. She was so excited while the man was making it she was jumping up and down and clapping her hands.

Panic
The panic all started when We were making plans and buying tickets for the grandstand show at stampede with friends. (side note I haven't really kept track of how far along I am, the nurse at the dr. office thinks I am nuts. )
I flip it to July (Next week) and there the first week in July is the 30 I wrote on the calender to let me know when I was 30 weeks.
30 WEEKS, so soon, there must be a mistake.
With my first 2 kids I was just like get this kid OUT. With this one though I have been on diclectin the whole time (better living through chemistry) so it has really been my easiest pregnancy (finally stopped taking it before I went to Washington). Also because I am so use to being pregnant or nursing (literally non-stop since late 2005), and sitting on the couch with a cup of icewater and a bottle of tums is second nature, I have kind of been avoiding the actual fact that I am expecting.
Finally in this house I feel like I am on top of things. I can keep my kitchen clean, floors mopped, and laundry to a minimum. I can bake and cook and play with my kids. I feel relaxed about life. But there it was/is staring me in the face 30 weeks.
In a short 11 weeks ( or actually 10 weeks due to c-section) I will have another baby. All of my being on top of things and ability to manage my household will be gone. Back to sleep deprivation, piles of laundry from baby spit up and baby poop. Baking?? what baking??
HOW DO YOU MANAGE WITH 3?!?!
I am not stressed because I have to much to get done and do in the short time, but because I don't think I have enough time left with just 2 kids. I am quite simply not ready for 3.
How do you keep control of 3 kids when you only have 2 hands, how do you hold 3 babies when you only have 2 knees. My body doesn't seem to have enough limbs to provide for all 3.
Speaking of 3, Lizzy turns 3 next tuesday. She is growing up but still so young, I am worried that she will get lost with a very demanding younger brother and a brand new baby.
I don't know if I would be less stressed if my kids were spaced farther apart or not, all I know is I am scared to death and not even close to ready.

Naming problems.
So as I previously announced we were planning on naming the baby Abigail Rae Smith. Rae is my mother in laws middle name. I have always liked the sound of it. I liked it with Jessica and Allison (both of which were vetoed by Trevor). The sad part is we discovered we can't use it.
If we name her Abigail Rae then her initials would be ARS or as my mother and brothers pointed out it would be pronounced "arse" like a rear end. Trevor tried to convince me that no one would notice the mistake. I pointed out that my family did, his family would and for the rest of her life she would have to deal with her uncles teasing her about it. I always thought I was so careful about stuff like that. Initials, rhyming etc., children are harsh and I don't really want to give them ammo against my kids. So the middle name is up for debates, we are still keeping Abigail. I want a family name. Both of our other kids have them ( Elizabeth Blake for my Grandpa, Samuel Don for Trevors Dad) However my family is kind of known for a streak of less desirable names and Trevors family is kind of over run with them, as everyone uses them all the time.
I think we are somewhat settled on Morgan. It is the name of the town that Trevors family hails from. Not really a family name but a family place. His grandparents live there and several of his aunts and cousins live there, I think his parents might retire there and it is where the family gets together for reunions. I also have a cousin named Morgan. She is much younger than I am (honestly I don't know how old she is now I think she is always 2 but I am sure she is older than that now.)
But this is all still up for debates, I guess at least having the first name is a good start.

The results are in
Little baby Smith will be a ...
GIRL. Thats right. The ultrasound today showed us that we will be adding a sister to our family in the fall. We have chosen the name Abigail Rae Smith. lol Last time with Sam I didn't pick the name until he was born so it feels good to already know ahead of time.
Trevor guessed it months ago from how I was carrying and how "moody" I am. He says it is just like when I was pregnant with Lizzy. I think it just means I need more ice cream.
On another note I found this program on a blog that I follow called "That Wife". A girl from my freshman ward at the Y (check out her photography blog she is REALLY good). It is called poladroid. It is a lot of fun. I have been playing around with it with my family pictures from last fall. It pics what it wants to do to photoshop your picture. You don't like it, throw it in again and see how it does it the next time. Here are my samples. (did I mention it is free).
kind of fun to play around with.
Anyways ttfn!

The hardest part
This last week the kids and I went to Soap Lake Washington to visit Trevor's Aunt on her farm. It was a lot of fun to spend so much time outside and around all the other kids. At all times there were 6 kids 3 and under on the farm and at one point we got up to 13 kids the oldest of which I think was 6. The hardest part of all this was when I got sick, weather it was food poisoning or a virus I don't know. All I know is that I was not alone in puking every 20 minutes for about 4 hours and then on and off throughout the day. Of course this was the morning of the day we left. Threw my back out, overstretched ever muscle in my ever growing belly. I went to chiropractor today and feel MUCH better but if these muscle aches don't cut it out I am going for a massage. I always find the first few days home to be the hardest anyways. Lizzy keeps whining at me (to much fun and to little sleep) and saying "mom I tired" , I just say "close your eyes then" Sam is sooooooo grouchy honestly. I can't do anything for him. Poor kiddies. Why does so much fun have to come with such high costs to the emotional well being of my children and my every shrinking storage of patience. I think I forgot my patience in Washington. Hopefully some time at home will get us all back on track.

Samuel the Dinosaur
Samuel is a Dinosaur. He probably doesn't know it himself, but Elizabeth and I have decided that he is. He walks around the house ROARing. I get him out of his crib in the morning and set him down the first thing nhe does is run from the room ROAR!!
Last night I was getting him ready for bed. He thought it was great fun to run away. So as he is just about to get out of arms reach I would grab him and haul him back. As I pulled him back he would laugh not a normal baby laugh though, not a normal Sam laugh even It can best be described as the Bowser laugh from Mario brothers nintendo games. HILARIOUS!! We played like that forever. Anyways Lethbridge this weekend and Washington next week more update later.

i love you too.

Every night I lay in bed with Lizzy. She never falls asleep but I stay there until she says it is okay to go. Last night I am laying there with my eyes close and she is moving around in the bed. The nixt thing I know she cups her hand up to my ear as if to tell me a secret. She wispers ever so quietly "i love you too." Melted my heart. I open my eyes to see her staring at me nose to nose and told her "I loved her too". She is such a sweet little girl, who constantly suprises me,
We went and watched Troy compete in Pole Vaulting at a track meet it was sooo cool.

The shy one
So we went for our ultrasound for the baby, sucker wouldn't show. Lizzy and Sam were both willing to let us know boy or girl but this one had its legs locked. We are thinking Cole for a boy and Abigail if it is a girl. We don't know if we are going to be able to have another ultrasound but maybe a suprise wouldn't be that bad.

Dinner
So we have a problem at our house where Elizabeth decides that she wants to watch tv instead of eating dinner. She will eat a bit and then says she is all done. Trevor was on his own for dinner tonight. Lizzy ate a bit and then wanted to get down and watch tv. Trevor said no she had to clear her plate before she could get down. He left the kitchen turned off the tv and turned right around to finish dinner. In the 3 steps back to the kitchen he sees Elizabeths plate was empty.
He says "Where is your food?"
She giggles
He looks under her chair... nothing there... looks around... nothing anywhere.
She says "down? tv?"
Trev says okay. As she leaves the kitchen Trevor notices that Samuels tray of food is very full. We don't have a dog, guess she had to resort to the little brother to empty her plate.

Sam is walking
Unfortunatly I wasn't thinking and the movie is sideways. It is so funny to watch him walk around and he is getting so determined to do it. Practice practice practice. Of course his greatest motivation is food. This kid eats me out of house already what will I do when he is 14?

I have officially decided
THAT WINTER IS OVER!!! I know I don't really get a vote in these things but I think it is about time. Last week was soooooooo cold. Can't that be the end. I bought my kids new spring/summer clothes. Crocs to wear outside, I WANT TO GO OUTSIDE! Anyways I am sure I am just getting my hopes up but it is suppose to be above zero for at least two weeks. The weather channel said so.

Eggs
My children must be criminal masterminds. Lately they have gotten into everything. A whole gallon of milk on the floor makes a great slip and slide. Chocolate syrup on the floor is a great paint medium. But eggs...oh eggs, more fun than you can bargain for. They cracked a half dozen into the produce drawer in the fridge. But here is the really funny one.
I was getting ready to make supper and Trev was out shoveling the walk. When he came in I went upstairs to go potty. (side note, I hadn't started cooking yet which is very important.) Now our house is VERY small. Trev sat down at the computer just out of view of the kitchen. In the time that I walked up stairs their plan was put into action. Lizzy opened the fridge and Sam sat in the doorway holding it open Lizzy climbed up on a chair by the stove with a pan. Sam then passed her the eggs one at a time and she attempted to crack them into the pan. All over the floor. Trevor walks into the kitchen and sees Sam holding one egg in each hand high above his head getting ready to throw them. Lizzy is saying "hahaha throw them Sam". Sam stops and looks at Trevor like uh oh. I then come back downstairs. I was very nice. I guess I wasn't cooking fast enough. I think it is HILARIOUS!

Favorite time.
I LOVE getting Sam up from a sleep. You pick him up and him gives you the best hug you have ever had. He stretches both arms out around you as far as he can and just clings around your shoulder and arm. He holds on so tight and snuggels his head right into your shoulder. Sometime I just stand by his crib so can enjoy it for awhile longer.
p.s. Lizzy didn't have an accident all weekend when we weren't home, but had 2 on monday when we were. Apparently she only likes to pee in public washrooms.

The Sam
Tomorrow is Sam's birthday. I can't believe it. He is so close to walking it is ridiculous. He laughs and plays. I am a little sad to let my little baby boy go, but I am so excited for this next year and everything it will bring.

Come Back HERE!
Elizabeth was sitting on the floor this morning, playing with some stickers. Sam was playing nearby and I was washing dishes. All of a sudden I hear a shriek and "HEY COME BACK HERE!!! YOU COME BACK HERE!!" I look over to see Sam had snatched the stickers and was hauling off with them. She chased him down and the wrestling matched ensued. Elizabeth won (which is surprising normally Sam puts up more of a fight). I just stood there and watched. I thought it was so funny. Sam is strong enough to win some of the times and I think it is good for them to solve it, anything past a tug of war I step in there is rules to our brawling. No biting (either), pushing (Lizzy)or hair pulling (Sam).

The floor
Lizzy likes to sleep on the floor. Last time we were at joel and glendas she slept on the floor in trevor and I's room and it has been a fad. I will go in in the morning and she will be on the floor with her pillow. The problem is that she moves in her sleep. She hits her head on the bed or kicks the dresser. She will end up with half her body under the bed and wake up at 2 am in a panic. I go in there when she cries and find her blankets and pillows around the room and put her back to bed. She is never fully awake so it isn't a problem. The funniest part is that our whole house is lino. She has a rug in her room but never sleeps on it, she always ends up on the cold lino.

The source of the problem.
Here is a play by play of a section of my morning. It spans maybe 20 minutes.
E= Lizzy
M= Me
S=Sam
* The house is tidy I sit down on the couch with a yogurt for breakfast*
E~ "Mommy a want some."
M~ " Okay but YOU have to sit at the table" (A little un equeal I know but I can eat off a spoon without spilling)
M~ somthing smells funny, must be Sam.
Grab Lizzy a yogurt and set her up at the table to eat it.
Wrangle Sam out of his diaper, he has had a pretty bad diaper rash and the runs
lately which is what caused my next thought
~ maybe I will just let him crawl a round naked and get a break from the diaper.
Turn around to clean up wipes and diapers roll up soiled diaper.
Turn around to see hand and knee prints of poop crossing my carpet
"AHHHHH" Sam had pooped AGAIN!!! and sat in it, and crawled though it, and spread it around.
S~ hahahahaha
he thinks running away is a game
M~ Panic, where do I start, the prints, the original mess
no no no the spreader
I grab Sam and hose him off and promptly put the diaper back on. I head down stairs to grab the oxy clean to clean the carpet. I scrub my carpet Sam screaming all the while because I left him to go downstairs and I put a diaper back on him.
Scrub Scrub Scrub.
I go back into the kitchen glad that I have restored order, but WAIT. Lizzy has decided htat yogurt makes great finger paints on my table.
weep
I won't give you the details but we cleaned that up too and washed hands and faces.
Is it any wonder that we as Moms have a hard time keeping the house clean???
