We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

Rant of the ghetto

First things first. our rent is cheap. It was based off of our income while Trevor couldn't work and I was on maternity. For the cheap rent though you don't get a whole lot. It is worth what we pay. CALGARY HOUSING COMPANY IS A JOKE.

How it started

My anger started today when I got a bill in the mail for close to $100.00 for snow removal. At first I was irate. It was for a day that there wasn't even any snow. ????? After I left a rather intense message on our reps phone (rep is code for buffer from upper management who is paid to try to get rid of all her people so that nothing ever really gets done) As I was getting dressed I realized what day they were billing us for. There was less than 1 cm of fresh snow on the ground and it was still coming down. YES IT WAS STILL SNOWING. I remember this because I was putting the kids in the car and I was wondering how much snow we were going to get this time. Some punk kid came buy with a shovel and did one scoop of the fresh snow in front of my house. he didn't do the whole walk, he didn't do the stairs, he didn't do the whole side walk, he didn't do the side walk he did ONE scoop of the snow in front of my house then did one scoop in front of the neighbors and continued on down the street. I thought that was odd and continued on with my day. Apparently that guy is a millionaire and his time is worth $50.00 per half second.

Lets add on top of that all the troubles we have had that they didn't care about. The BLACK mold growing in the basement that took them 3 + months to get rid of. It took a threat of us calling our lawyer (I love my daddy) to get that taken care of.

Oh and when I had a flood in my basement TWICE that they still haven't looked at.

Oh and the second lake that turns out wasn't the kitchen sink, wasn't the toilet, wasn't me flooding the bathroom, wasn't the shower head (6 plumber visits later, and after it was leaking straight through the roof onto my couch) Where they cut massive holes in my roof, wall, daughters closet every where trying to find the problem (funny it was right where trevor told them it was)

The holes in my roof, we have had these holes in our roof for MONTHS.

ughhhhhh this is such a joke. I can't wait for our house,

by the way they are putting walls up.

pregnancy cartoon

I personally thought that twins would be a great idea, 2 babies for 1 pregnancy. However Trevor really did think that we were having twins this time. I just kind of popped right out there. I am a little sad that my body apparently knows exactly what it has to do and that I am showing (the tiniest bit) at 8 weeks while other girls get to 20 and you are asking them "are you sure you are pregnant". At least I won't have to go through all the hurting of my body parts moving around so much right.

Mortified

So I am on Diclectin for my morning sickness. For the first few days it totally knocked me out (my house is still recovering). There are some days still where not even the drugs can hold back my sickness. Today was one of those days. I was trying not to eat anything until my stomach settled. 10:00 rolls around and I have to go visiting teaching. I put my prenatal vitamin in my pocket and grabbed a bottle of water. I swallowed it on the sisters doorstep before I went in. bad move. I was so embarrassed when I had to ask where her washroom was and went and puked my guts out. I don't really know her or my companion all that well. ughhh. What is the worst spot you have gotten sick at?

I love my Dr.

So I booked myself in with the Dr I have had for my whole life. She is AMAZING. We just visited for 15 minutes. After that I walked out with an appointment for an obgyn and a requisition for an ultrasound, I managed to get in on Monday. Pftttt 6 more weeks, my Dr is amazing. Even though I don't like the receptionist (who wasn't there today hooray!) It is worth it to be able to go see someone who actually cares.

no comment

I have spent the morning cleaning my house, mopping, washing, vacuuming, dusting. I am going to enrichment tonight and so Trevor is having some of the men folk over to play cards. I LITERALLY had just finished and decided that i would check facebook and my blog before I went upstairs to clean the bathroom. I sit down, turn on the monitor and load the Internet.

"Hmm where did Lizzy and Sam go."
" They are awfully quiet"
"WHAT IS THAT CRINKLING SOUND?"

I run to the back pantry, one of the two places I couldn't see from where i was sitting on the whole main floor. There they are with dumping the last bit of my brand new box of my favorite cereal (multi grain cheerios) onto the floor.

"no, no, no, no, NO!"

They look up at me with such an innocent look, like look what we found Momma, aren't they fun. I banished both of them and cleaned it up.

And I wonder why my house is never clean.

Lets add on top of that, that since I have written this post they have dumped the entire tub of changing stuff all over my living room.

tear.

Cookies and Compromises

Lizzy and I were enjoying some oreos and milk the other day, well and of course Samuel needed some also.

Do you see it in his neck roll hahaha. Daddy showered him he was so messy.

Elizabeth has always been a great sleeper, and with her over 2 and a half the nap situation is always up in the air. She will still take one but of course doesn't want to. When she does she will sleep for a couple of hours. And if woken up before she is ready she will go back to sleep. One of the compromises that we have come up with is that she can take her nap on the couch if Samuel is sleeping at the same time. She is such a heavy sleeper too that I can wash dishes, play music or even watch tv right beside her and she still won't wake up. If only Sam would sleep like her.

On the baby front, I have schedualed an appointment with my old family Dr for tomorrow. Seeing how she has known me for my whole life and is a mother I am hoping that she will take pity on me and send me for an ultrasound. It is farther away but at least I know she will take good care of me. If I can survive her one evil receptionist.

A difference of opinion

I am having a difference of opinion with my doctor.

Let me start at the beginning, When I was pregnant with Sam there was confusion about my due date. I was originally told that it was going to be in January, then with my ultasound it was pushed back a whole month. UGH so that pregnancy took FOREVER.

Shoot back to today. I believe that I am about 4-6 week pregnant which would put me on a mid September due date. The doctor, going off of missed cycles, thinks that I am 12 weeks along. The only problem is that during those extra 6 week I went to the doctors and had pregnancy tests (including blood work) done to see if I was prego and they came back negative. but if I am 12 weeks that puts me at an early August due date.

I also haven't been sick for long enough to be that far along.

I really don't want to believe him that I am 12 weeks just to end up getting those extra 6 put back on and making it take that much longer.

The problem is that he won't send me for an ultra sound until he thinks that I am 18 weeks along, so I have to wait a month and a half just to find out how far along I really am, ughhhhhhh. So I guess we will see in March.

I really do think I am right though.

Sweetest Little Girl.

After an emergency run for morning sickness in which I only made it to the kitchen sink, (gross I know but I promise I bleached it), I had collapsed on the floor to catch my breath. Lizzy came in from the other room and says, "all right momma?" then crouched down beside me a rubbed my back. What a sweet little thing. She must have seen her good daddy comfort me before.

We have also been practicing our nursery songs, here are some of my favorites from the Elizabeth jukebox

mommy: grandpapa grandpapa i love my grandpapa oeo o o oeo o o
lizzy: grandpapa grandpapa grandpapa grandpapa grandpapa i love you oh oh oh oh

mommy: once there was a snowman snowman snowman once ther was a snowman tall tall tall
lizzy: a snowman a snowman a snowman a snowman a snowman

mommy: head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes knees and toes
lizzy: knees and toes knees and toes a head a mouth a knees and toes

mommy: clean up clean up everybody everywhere clean up clean up everybody do your share
lizzy: clean up clean up a snowman a papa clean up clean up clean up a snowman

Well then...

... I guess we will be switching from a "man on man" defence to a "zone" defense. I thought I had the weirdest stomach flu this past week.... this summarizes my life...

pregnancy cartoon

I didn't get a box test, but I did go to the doctor. Somehow in my mind I think that they are wrong. But if increased eating, puking multiple times a day and breaking in to tears for absolutly NO REASON doesn't convince me then I don't know why I would fully believe a doctor who had me pee in a cup.

Sam turns one at the very end of next month. Talk about keeping things close. This baby and Sam should be about the same distance apart as Lizzy and Sam. I don't have a due date yet, I find out Tuesday at my appointment. Maybe I dreamed it and my next post will be all just kidding. I am excited for the baby, I just am not ready to go through pregnancy again, it is so rough.

The funniest part is that on facebook I have been keeping a count of how many pregnant people I know as a joke, well I had to add myself to that list, I was at 22 but one of the girls had their baby yesterday so I have been knocked back to 21.

I don't know quite how people do it, kids, house and pregnancy but I guess I will find out first hand.
